An attachment which converts a drill, pneumatic, portable; or a drill, electric, portable; to a portable power driven sander, buffer, or polisher. It consists of a flexible circular backing pad, usually rubber, furnished with disk, abrasive for sanding and wool bonnet(s) for buffing or polishing. It has a straight round 1/4 inch (6.35 millimeters) shank for inserting into the chuck of a drill. May have an angle drive of approximately 100 degrees or may have the drill shank mounted directly to the center of the backing pad. The angle drive type may provide for speed reduction or speed increases.
