the tactical local area network (taclan) NON-Secure internet protocol router (nipr) redundancy kit, or nipr redundancy kit (nrk) , is a SUB-Set of, and an additon to, the full nsn: 5810-01-518-7269, the command and control (C2) nsn: 5895-01-559-8750 taclan suites, and the nipr segment (N-Segment) of equipment. the nipr nrk provides a BACK-Up server and storage capability for the unclassified network equipment segment included in the taclan full and C2 suites of equipment. when properly configured and connected to the dod NON-Secure can extend niprnet capability by providing redundancy in the event of a main N-Segment failure

SOS: Source of Supply. A three position code or routing identifier code (ric), which identifies the source of supply activity.
