additional descriptive data on manual record
joint operational stocks (jos) 50-man bare base sets (tan) are air transportable, modular life support systems that afford unit commanders with rapiddeployable package of equipment designed to provide limited comfort & life support to personnel in a bare base environment. set contains: tents with lights, outlets, power generation equipment, environmental control units. lightweight field shower & a portable water storage filtration unit. wt: 34455 lbs. a small number of army space heaters (ash) for use in cold weather environments may be available but are not issued as part of the set. configurations may vary depending on availability of equipment at time of acquistion. sets do not include kitchen equipment or latrines. further, no manpower comes with the set for installation or maintenance. the 50-man bare base set contains the following hazmat items when shipped: un 3363, dangerous goods in machinery, residue only, class 9 generator set, diesel engine, trailer mounted
A collection of subsystems designed to accomodate a military unit. Included are facilities for billeting, latrine, shower, fuel/water/power distribution, waste management, transportation aids, and system support services. Transportation of the system can be achieved by rail, sea, aircraft, and/or vehicle. Additional modules of appropriate configurations may be added as required to form a desired size base camp.
Indicates there is no data in the hmirs and the nsn is in a fsc not generally suspected of containing hazardous materials.
Item does not contain precious metal.
No known electrostatic discharge (esd) or electromagnetic interference (emi) sensitivity.
Represents items with no adp components
The item does not have a nuclear hardened feature or any other critical feature such as tolerance, fit restriction or application.
HMIC: Hazardous Material Indicator Code. A one position code that identifies a hazardous item.
PMIC: Precious Metal Indicator Code. A one position code which identifies items that have precious metals as part of their content. precious metals are those metals generally considered to be uncommon, highly valuable, and relatively superior in certain properties such as resistance to corrosion and electrical conductivity.
ESD: Electrostatic Discharge. Indicates if an item is susceptible to electrostatic discharge or electromagnetic interference damage. electrostatic discharge damage occurs when an accumulation of static electricity generated by the relative motion or separation of materials is released to another item by direct contact. electromagnetic interference damage occurs when an item comes into proximity with an electrostatic or magnetic field.
ENAC: Enviromental Attribute Code. Identifies items with environmentally preferred characteristics.
CRITL: Criticality Indicator Code. Indicates an item is technically critical by tolerance, fit, application, nuclear hardness properties, or other characteristics.
