Definition Definition of approved item name (AIN): "COCK-WATER DETECTOR,FUEL TANK"

A cylindrically shaped item composed of a perforated cylinder, a threaded adapter, and a self-locking drain cock. The item is designed to be inserted into a fuel tank to afford quick and complete sump drainage of water. Absolute detection of water is obtained by filling the cylinder with noncorrosive crystals which are insoluble in fuel but dissolve and cause discoloration in the presence of water.
